AOR 1 (Area of Responsibility 1) is a camouflage pattern used by the United States Navy SEALs (Sea, Air and Land) and other elements of the Naval Special Warfare Command. It is an arid/desert camouflage pattern that consists of light olive green, beige, and light brown colors. The pattern is designed to blend in with desert and arid environments such as those found in the Middle East. It is made up of irregular elliptical shapes that are meant to break up the silhouette of the wearer and make them harder to spot. The AOR 1 pattern is a modification of the original Navy Working Uniform (NWU) Type I and was first introduced in the mid-2000s. It has since become a popular camouflage pattern among special operations forces and is used in various military applications across the world.
